Naturally, major kudos point accumulations are uploaded to online leaderboards. After downloading a ghost, players enter the event and see the spectral image of a friend's challenge whipping around the course. Players can upload their best runs to Glu's central servers and challenge other players to download and best their races. Project Gotham is not a directly online multiplayer game, but it does feature ghosts. The Drift Challenge event is unique to mobile, requiring players to perform lengthy drift to meet preset requirements, based on difficulty level. The eight events include the Kudos Challenge (earn a specific number of kudos points), One on One, and Timed Run. A strictly "cross the finish line" racer rarely cuts it anymore, so the developers of the mobile Project Gotham Racing have including a solid series of race events to keep things fresh. If you bump a wall or strike another car, you lose everything you worked that thumb pad for. The only catch, of course, is that you have to successful exit the move to actually pocket those kudos. Moves can be linked up, such as snaking around a series of turns with smoothly transitioned drifts, to racks up huge kudos packages. The longer you pull off a technique, the more kudos points you are awarded. Powersliding, drafting, close racing, and big air are all watched by invisible judges. Performance rating goes beyond mere speed. The kudos system implores racers not just to cross the finish line, but to do so in style. Once you own the pink slip, you can then use the cars in any previous race to up your times and bank even more coin. The game's structure, a series of race events spread across global metropolises like Cairo and Shanghai, allows you to earn the necessary scratch to purchase the keys. Of course, not all of these rides are immediately available following your download.
